Dispersion of Light is the phenomenon in which when white light is passed through a prism, it splits into seven different colors.
Dispersion of light was discovered by Isaac Newton when he let sunlight pass through a minute hole in a dark room. He observed that the light ray, initially white, now had split into seven different colors, namely- Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red
